Multi-Tenant Cluster Install Prerequisites

Multi-tenant clusters are only available if you have paid for multi-tenant support. Contact Penguin Computing to learn more.

Configure the following hardware and software before installing the ICE ClusterWare ™ multi-tenant package.

1. Connect all bare metal compute nodes that will be added to tenancies to Sonic Ethernet switches running a supported distribution. See Network Operating Systems for information about supported distributions.

2. Connect all bare metal compute nodes that will be added to tenancies to an InfiniBand network.

3. Install and configure OpenSM to manage the InfiniBand network. See Configure OpenSM with ICE ClusterWare for details.

4. Install the Harvester 1.5.1 virtualization environment on a set of bare metal nodes. These nodes do not need to be added to the ClusterWare software. Review the Harvester documentation for install instructions: https://docs.harvesterhci.io/v1.5/

5. Save the following to a location accessible by the ClusterWare administrator:

   • Rocky 9.5 DVD boot ISO for the tenancy head node.

   • KubeConfig file that has administrator-level access to the Harvester environment. See the Harvester documentation for details: https://docs.harvesterhci.io/v1.5/faq#how-can-i-access-the-kubeconfig-file-of-the-harvester-cluster

   • Multi-tenant cluster configuration file (OEMDRV.iso) you received from Penguin Computing Support.
