Delete a Tenancy and Tenant#

Note

Tenants, tenancies, and other features are available if you have paid for multi-tenant support. Contact Penguin Computing to learn more.

After a tenant is done with their tenancy, the superadministrator can remove the tenancy and release the associated nodes for future use.

To delete a tenancy:

  1. Provide the name of the tenancy you want to delete:

    cw-clusterctl tenancies -i <tenancy name> teardown

The nodes associated with the tenancy are powered off and automatically moved to the Quarantine tenancy. The tenancy is removed from the tenant and deleted from the ICE ClusterWare ™ software.

  2. Monitor node health status (_aim_current_state reserved attribute) within the Quarantine tenancy.

  3. Move nodes with a status of Available to the Available tenancy:

    $cw-clusterctl tenancies -i Quarantine unassign <healthy node list>
    $cw-clusterctl tenancies -i Available assign <healthy node list>

To delete a tenant:

  1. Verify the tenant does not have any associated tenancies:

    cw-clusterctl tenants -i <tenant name> list

    Caution

Do not delete a tenant if there are still tenancies assigned.

  2. Provide the name of the tenant you want to delete:

    cw-clusterctl tenants -i <tenant name> delete
